What is your cancellation policy?

To receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 21 days before check-in. If you cancel less than 21 days before your scheduled check-in date, unfortunately, no refund will be given. It's important to plan accordingly and provide ample notice if your plans change.

How much do I need to put down to block my dates?

We require 50% of your total invoice (including cleaning fees, refundable security deposits and tax) to block the dates you request.

How do you accept payment?

We can send you a PayPal invoice if you wish to pay by credit/debit card or you can mail us a check.

Am I allowed to bring my dog(s)?

We love dogs! At The Lost Sierra Ranch, we happily welcome dogs with prior approval and kindly require a $250 refundable pet deposit per dwelling to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests. Please inquire with our general manager for pet arrangement during your stay.

We are conveniently situated in the charming town of Sloat, CA, offering easy access to a variety of neighboring locales. Sloat is a mere 55 miles away from the vibrant town of Truckee, CA, while also being just 65 miles from the bustling hub of Reno, NV, and a short 70-mile drive from the breathtaking vistas of Lake Tahoe. The closest neighboring towns to us are Quincy, CA and Graeagle, CA, both being about 15 miles away.

Is The Lost Sierra Ranch public or private?

The Lost Sierra Ranch spans across 200 acres of privately owned land, providing you with the exclusive luxury of seclusion, free from public roads or trails. Accessible only through a secure ranch gate, the serene and tranquil environment guarantees a getaway filled with privacy and tranquility during your stay.

Can I bring my RV/Trailer or camp at The Lost Sierra Ranch?

Unfortunately, The Lost Sierra Ranch does not permit the parking of RVs, trailers, or any form of camping on our premises. Due to the lack of hookups, septic facilities, and showers, we are unable to fulfill requests for these accommodations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Can I hunt at The Lost Sierra Ranch?

We are proud to maintain a sanctuary for wildlife on our property, and, as such, we do not allow hunting anywhere on the property. The diverse array of creatures that call our land home is truly what sets this place apart. It is important to note that hunting of any form is not permitted, and any individuals found in violation of this policy will be promptly reported to the Department of Fish and Game.

Where can I buy groceries and other items close to the ranch?

Quincy, CA has a Safeway, Grocery Outlet, SavMor and Rite Aid. Graeagle, CA has a small general store called The Graeagle Store.
